Marc Rust was born in Washington, DC and was raised in the American South.
At the age of 8, he moved to Paris, where he lived until the age of 21.
This clash of cultures has given him unique perspective on culture and design.
Marc has always had an attraction to designs with unusual materials. He
has studied drawing, pottery, stencil making, sculpture and music. Some
of his other forays include collecting vintage microphones of the sixties
and seventies as wall as playing the guitar and singing.
It's the things that are normally perceived as being used and obsolete that
Marc finds fascinating, the humdrum that provides him with inspiration.
He sees new forms generated by a combination of elements which would otherwise
be forgotten or outworn. His sculptures are the ideal contrast to the fast
turning world of consumerism that are his signature. Marc currently lives
in Boston where he works as a graphic artist.
