This piece took a long time to come out for I did a lot of research to find a very unusual “round element” to work with. For this piece, I came across acrylic half balls. The see-throughness really ads to the depth of the piece by slightly hiding the subject matter. Acrylic is very easy to paint and has an awesome feel to it.
This is my first attempt at creating a dot painting. I learned a lot about the amount of planning needed and the selection of supplies. After this one I spent a long time looking for a different medium, anything round I could re-purpose in some way.
My wife and I both do art. You can see her photography at nanvan.com and she also does paintings. Today we put up our work at Zume’s in Charlestown which will showcase how our styles intermingle and go together. We set up today in record timing although I do feel a little bit weird about exposing some of my favorite pieces for sale.
This exhibit is at:
223 Main Street

I will post an update with the info on when the opening is but the art is there!
